Volunteers can make significant contributions to the operation of the Society and service to the community.
The Society has a number of committees and activities that can use the talents and leadership of community members. If interested in volunteering in any of these areas, contact the Society at wjhhs15025@gmail.com.
Archives/Research: Inventory, document, organize, and prepare displays of the Society's collection of books, documents, photographs, and artifacts. In addition, conduct research and answer queries for information on local and family history.
Fundraising: Create products and events designed to raise money for the Society.
Genealogy: Conduct research and answer queries for information on the history of local families.
Membership: Participate in advertising and events designed to promote membership in the Society. Maintains an accurate account of current members and publishes an annual membership directory.
Newsletters: Write original articles and/or research already published news articles on local history topics. May also report on Society news, events, and programs.
Programs: Locate and schedule speakers and plan programs to present at Society monthly meetings. Also set up and provide refreshments at Society meetings.
Publicity: Advertise the Society's upcoming programs and events on the Society bulletin board, with signage in the community, on community websites, and in local media.
Technology: Support the Society's activities through the Society's web site, social media pages, program speaker needs, archive computer tools, and essential printing requirements.
